Janice Anderson Hobbs

Janice Anderson Hobbs, 74, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on December 23, 1939 in Daviess Co. to the late Guy and Virginia Wethington Anderson. She was retired from Shoney's Restaurant after many years as the Food and Salad Bar Manager. Janice was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking pictures, making crafts, raising flowers, was an avid U. K. basketball and St. Louis Cardinals fan, and especially loved her dog Jackson. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jaimie Gene Hobbs, Sr. on August 21, 1991.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas Merritt Hobbs, Sr., a daughter, Laurie Scott and husband Neil of Beech Grove, two sons, Rex Hobbs and Thomas Wesley Hobbs, Sr., both of Owensboro, nine grandchildren, Joshua Ray Hobbs of Virginia Beach, VA, Larry Loveless and Jaimie Gene Hobbs, Jr., both of Henderson, Thomas W. Hobbs, Jr. and Jacob Merritt Hobbs, both of Owensboro, Kristin Hobbs and Brandon Hobbs, both of Murray, and Laurine Scott and David Scott, both of Beech Grove, eight great grandchildren, a brother, Larry (Sheila) Anderson of Habit, and two sisters, Mary Jo Anderson of Habit and Nancy (Donnie) Payne of Owensboro.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 18, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 8:30 A.M. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
