Janet King of Owensboro passed away Friday, August 21, 2009 at the Owensboro Medical Health System after a lengthy battle with cancer. Mrs. King was retired from the Owensboro Housing Authority and was preceded in death by her father James T. Thompson, her brother, James L. Thompson, and a sister, Elaine Curtis.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Kenneth King; three sons, Stephen and his wife Sally Moss, Billy and his wife Cheri Moss, and David Moss; two daughters, Debra and her husband Mike Yeckering and Pamela Quesnell; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Stacy and Earl Fulkerson, Michael and Ruth Yeckering, Karla and Chris Copeland, Chris and Lindsey Moss, Drew and Lee Ann Moss, Eric and Adriana Moss, Jessica Moss, Josh Quesnell, and Matthew Moss; 12 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brad and Jacob Yeckering, C.J. Copeland, Blake and Luke Fulkerson, Abbey Moss, Kara, Kiersten, and Hunter Moss, and Carter and Owen Moss; her mother, Doris Thompson; her bother Bobby Thompson; and four sisters, Lena Henning, Linda Craig, and Carolyn Nevitt all of Owensboro, and Shirley Sacra of Fresno, CA; and her loving and faithful pet, Baby Girl.
Services are 12 noon, Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home with Brother Bill Castlen officiating. Private entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, and after 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
