Janet Faye Jones

Janet Faye Jones, 68, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, November 8 following a long battle with cancer. She passed at home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Owensboro to the late Harry S. Jones and Elois M. Jones Hunt.

Janet was a 1973 graduate of Owensboro High School. She was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1988 following many years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. Janet enjoyed crafts, fishing and her many beloved pets, especially her beloved dachshunds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda S. Byrd.

Ms. Jones is survived by sisters, Jane Roberts (caregiver) and Mary Ann Johnson (Roger); nieces, Amy Wimsatt (Scott) and Amanda Ralph (Travis), all of Owensboro; nephews, Andy Evans (Kim), of Belviders, TN and Michael Byrd (Tyna) of Colorado Springs, CO; great nieces and nephews, Will Boultinghouse, Ross Boultinghouse, Emilyn Evans, Winston Evans, Katie Evans, Jenny Wooten and Mathew Wooten; and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Chapel in Owensboro Memorial Gardens at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 18.
