Jane Kirkpatrick Rayburn
September 13, 1920 — October 5, 2016
Jane Kirkpatrick Rayburn, 96, died Wednesday, October 5th after a brief illness. She was the only child of the late Mabeth and Jack Lancaster and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mabeth Kirkpatrick, the father of her children, John L. Kirkpatrick and her second husband, Dr. Mack Rayburn.
Jane attended Hollins College and graduated from University of Kentucky. She was a founding member of the Campbell Club, Cotillion Club and the PU Band. Jane was an accomplished golfer and directed the Owensboro Country Club Junior Golf program for many years. She enjoyed world travel, and believed passionately in the educational value of travel. Jane enjoyed crossword puzzles, board games and was an excellent bridge player.
She is survived by her daughter Paddy Kirkpatrick Miller (Jim), and sons Kirk Kirkpatrick (Dianne), Steve Kirkpatrick (Kathy) and nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A private family memorial service was held in the chapel of Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that any memorial gifts be made to the HELP Office of Owensboro, Hospice of Western Kentucky or the RiverPark Center.
