Jane Dockins McPherson, 86, of Owensboro, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, February 13, 2026 under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born in Greenville, Kentucky to the late George Estil and Lois Marie McCauley Dockins and graduated from Greenville High School.
Mrs. Jane was a devout Christian who placed great emphasis on prayer and “loving well”. Her passion for reading included reading through the entire Bible more than 20 times and a tremendous number of books, most of which focused on spiritual growth. She was gifted in sharing with others and, over the course of her life, taught Sunday School at Macedonia, Bellevue and Pleasant Grove Baptist Churches. Her love for the Lord also led her to join her husband in ministry with Agape Prison Ministry as well as outreach at Green River Correctional Complex and Dismas House.
She loved spending time with family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For many years she was an integral part of her husband’s business ventures.
Her love for her Lord and her family continues to inspire those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Virgil Eugene McPherson, in 2020 and sisters, George Ann and Karen Estelle Dockins.
Mrs. McPherson is survived by her children, Kimberly Marie Dunn (Ronnie) of Stanley, Kandra "Kandi" Michelle Stephens (Freddie) of Hawesville, Michael Gene McPherson (Deborah) of Utica and Kristy Jane Brackin (Todd) of Owensboro; grandchildren, Wesley Owen Dunn (Lindsey), Audra Marie Dunn, Lindsey Stephens McElroy (Jonathan), Lauren Stephens Best (John), Joshua Tyler Stephens (Jaime), Patrick Ryan McPherson (Judy), Mikaela Renee Sireci (Bill), Caleb Andrew Brackin (Erin) and Hannah Beth Stephanski (Chandler); 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wm. Thomas Dockins (Brenda); and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 19 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 5664 Hwy. 56. Visitation at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory will be held Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. There will also be visitation Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of service at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The committal service will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday at Carter Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Greenville.
