Jane Sullivan Cahalan

January 3, 1921 — May 11, 2001

Jane Sullivan Cahalan, 80, of 2501 Old Hartford Rd. Owensboro, died Friday, May 11, 2001 at the Carmel Home. The Houston, Texas native was a member of the Roman Catholic Church attending the Carmel Home Chapel; had served as an Elder and Deacon of First Presbyterian Church, and was a long-time volunteer at the Wendell Foster Center and for the Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Women of the Church and Daughters of the American Revolution (Evan Shelby Chapter); was an artist, seamstress and card shark. She was recipient of the Dianna Award and was an Owensboro Volunteer of the Year in 1977.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Davis Sullivan and second husband, John Francis Cahalan, Sr.

She is survived by 2 sons, Rob Sullivan of Houston, TX. and Rick Sullivan of Trinity, NC.; 2 daughters, Shelby Shackelford of Sand Springs, OK., and Sister Sharon Sullivan, OSU, of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at Brescia University Chapel, Sunday, May 13, 2001 at 2 P.M.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to the Carmel Home, 2501 Old Hartford Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303.
