James Homer Westerfield

James Homer Westerfield, 79, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at his home. He was born on October 31, 1934 in Ohio Co., KY to the late Jake R. and Amy Hagan Westerfield. He was retired after 20 years of service from the U. S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam Era. Jim also had worked in Court Security at the Judicial Center, was with the Ziebart Co. for over 15 years, and also had worked at Kuesters Hardware. He enjoyed meeting people and was a person who never met a stranger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Christine Westerfield on April 8, 2000, his brothers and sisters, Mary Lee Dickens, Johnny Westerfield, Bernard Westerfield, Bernadine Westerfield, Lucy Morgan, and Imogene Whittaker.

Surviving are his five children, Mike (Patty) Westerfield of Albuquerque, N.M., Julie (Scott) Johnson of Aurora, CO, Pat (Laura) Westerfield of Benton, Kathy Westerfield and Angie (Jason) Garrett, all of Owensboro, nine grandchildren, Susan, Karen, Tabitha, Tera, Joni, Jennifer, Morgan, Jessi, and Katie, 10 great grandchildren.

Services will be 12 Noon Friday, August 15, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with entombment following in Rosehill Cemetery Mausoleum with full military honors. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P. M. Thursday and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
