James Randall Vanover

James "Ranny" Vanover, 71, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday December 4, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. on August 22, 1939. He was retired from Green Coal Co. after 30 years as a heavy equipment operator and supervisor. He was a U. S. Navy veteran. James was a member of the Monsarratt Masonic Lodge in Panther and the First Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on and building stock cars for racing, fishing, camping, cooking, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Thurman Vanover and a brother, Ray Vanover.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Peggy Vanover, his mother, Pauline Reeves of Owensboro, three daughters, Tonya (Rick) Spencer of Mobile, AL, Kim (Glenn) Brown of Alabama, and Kim Jarvis of Owensboro, a son, Allen Armour of Owensboro, eight grandchildren, Chaz and Jordan Brown, both of Mobile, Taren and Madison Jarvis, Ciera, Brittany, Kylee, and Sydney Armour, all of Owensboro, two great grandchildren, Addie and Lawson, and two brothers, Dennis (Gayle) Vanover of Panther and Michael (Kim) Reeves of Owensboro.

Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, December 8, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens with full military honors.. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
