James H. Toler

James H. Toler, 93, of Lewisport, passed away on Monday, Jan.6, 2025, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born on Feb. 10, 1931, in Lewisport to the late James T. Toler and Nola Greathouse. James retired from GE after 34 years of service. He farmed his entire life on the family farm in Lewisport. Farming was his passion, and he enjoyed doing what he loved every day. He loved his pet cat JoJo, who provided great companionship to him over the years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Pattie Toler, and brothers, Walter Toler and Bill Toler.

He is survived by his son Ronnie (Kathy) Toler, grandchildren Dr. Chris Toler (Michael) and Tara (Trey) Lytton, and great-grandchildren Grant Toler, Hadley Lytton, Reagan Toler, Houston Lytton, Harrison Toler, and Anderson Toler.

A special Thanks to the crew at Hillbillys restaurant and Debbi Locke for the kindness shown to him every day; he very much enjoyed eating breakfast there and talking with his friends every day. Many thanks to Heartland Villa in Lewisport and The Heartfort House in Owensboro for the special care of James in his final days here on earth, which was much appreciated. Many thanks to Debbie Hawes for all she has done to assist in his care over the last several weeks and the incredible dedication on her part in making his journey more pleasant.

The funeral service for James Toler will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with visitation from 9 am until 12 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lewisport Cemetery.
