James Lony Thomson, 77, passed away January 8, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Daviess County on April 18, 1939 to the late J.D. and Mary Thomson. James was a hard worker and made the most of every moment and loved his farms. He and his wife owned Thomson Machinery Co., worked with the coal industry and was a cattle farmer. James was a member of First General Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Duke Thomson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Henrietta; daughter, Susan Bennett (Greg); sons, Mark Thomson (Pamela) and Nathan Thomson; grandchildren, Lauren Moore, Connor Bennett, James Thomson, Hunter Thomson, Jacob Thomson, Michelle Thomson; great-grandchildren, Malachi Thompson, Liam Gerteison, and Olivia Thompson; brother Samuel Tony Thomson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 10:00a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
