James William "Bill" Stuart, 86, of Owensboro passed away on July 28, 2011. He was born in Owensboro to the late Robert M. and Ruth Stuart.
Jim retired from General Electric in 1970 after more than 20 years of service. He also worked in construction for several years. Jim was a World War II pilot in the Army Air Corps.
He received his cadet training at Michigan State University and attended Western Kentucky University, Valparaiso Technical Institute and Brescia University.
Jim was very talented with his hands. He loved the outdoors and all animals.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mildred Stuart in 2007, a brother Robert M. Stuart, Jr. in 2010 and his parents.
Jim is survived by two sons, James Gilbert Stuart (Jennetta) and Jeoffrey Stuart (Margaret), both of Owensboro. He is also survived by two brothers, Thomas Stuart (Nancy) of Owensboro and Alexander Stuart, of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren, Heather, Jarrod and Wendy Stuart, Donna Harrison, Christy Probus and Donald Ray Nugent; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held.
