James Clay Stringer

James C. Stringer, 81, of Owensboro, KY, passed away Friday, October 15, 2010. He was born February 1, 1929 to the late Sam and Jenny Hays Stringer of Muhlenberg County, KY. He was a self-employed Insurance Agent and was a member of St. John United Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 9, a life member of VFW Post 696, and a life member of AM-Vets Post 75, and the 40 & 8. He was a U of L basketball fan, and enjoyed the Sunday family bar-b-que's. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Joanne Stringer, on April 8, 2004.

Survivors include his son, Andrew Howard Stringer of Jeffersonville, IN, his daughters, Anne Hayes Lambert of Baton Rouge, LA, and Jenny Paige Huston, and her husband, Dan of Noblesville, IN; five grandchildren, Jacob Allen Haley, Ryan Joseph Haley, Stevi Leigh Lambert, William Clay Stringer, all of Owensboro, and Cortney Anne Stringer of Lexington. Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, at Christ Chapel, at Owensboro Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors presented by VFW Post 696 and burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
