James "Jim" Snyder

James "Jim" Harold Snyder, 82, of Owensboro, went to his Heavenly home and was greeted by his son, Glen, on March 8, 2017. He was born October 9, 1934 to the late Rev. James Homer and Hazel Marie Snyder. Jim was a long-time member of Calvary Wesleyan Church and most recently, attended Yellow Creek Baptist Church. He was employed at Parr Trucking and later at Yager Materials where he worked as a truck driver until his retirement. He enjoyed hobbies such as yard work and building things. Jim enjoyed watching NASCAR, UK Basketball and was a great story teller. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed the times he spent with them. Jim is also preceded in death by his sister, Regina Starks.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bonnie McMahan Snyder; children, Sherman Snyder and Susan McCarthy; grandchildren, Brian (Stephanie) Snyder, Joey (Kelly) Snyder, Jeff (Melissa) Snyder, Barry (Stephanie) Snyder, Donny (Larisa) Snyder, Jackie Snyder, Andrea (Alex) Smith, Jordan (Payton) McCarthy, Zachery (Jillian) McCarthy; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, Darlene Snyder; sister, Dorothy Harper and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 12:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
