James Thomas Smith

James Thomas Smith, 49, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Versailles, KY, James loved life, his family, and his independence. One of seven children of Anna Parker Smith and the late John Thomas Smith, he especially enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics Program.

Surviving are his mother, Anna Smith of North Fort Myers, FL; sisters, Lora Lynn Smith of Versailles, KY, Mary Ann Chadwell of Waddy, KY, and Betty Lou Smith of North Vernon, IN; brothers, John Raymond Smith of Versailles, KY, and Joseph Michael Smith and Mark Anthony Smith both of North Fort Myers, FL; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and caregivers with River Valley Behavioral Health.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday.
