James Thomas "Jay" Skimmerhorn, 71, of Hartford, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He retired as a truck driver after 40 years. Jay was a member of Union Grove Church, and loved his dogs, playing Bingo, NASCAR and stock car racing, and gardening.
His parents, James and Sally Skimmerhorn, and a daughter, Bambi Key preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of 35 years, Virginia (Whistle) Skimmerhorn, a daughter, Angila White, sons, Mark (Angie) Skimmerhorn, Matthew Skimmerhorn, Travis (Raven) Skimmerhorn, John (Bobbie) Skimmerhorn, Clivan (Theresa) Skimmerhorn, Roy Wilson, Jeff (Trudy) Wilson, Terry (Theresa) Baughn, a son-in-law, Gene Key, a brother, Fred Knowles, a sister, Alice Slayton, 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Bro. Don Goatee officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 10 a.m. Saturday. Online condolences may be left at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
