James Michael Wayne Shaffer

September 14, 1974 — February 16, 2012

James Michael "Wayne" Shaffer, 37 of Owensboro went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Owensboro Place Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on September 14, 1974 in Owensboro to David W. and C. Yvonne Burris Shaffer of Owensboro. Wayne ask Jesus to come into his heart at the age of 11 and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was employed at Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline in Owensboro and was a 1993 graduate of Owensboro High School. He was an artist who could draw just about anything, but preferred Comic Book art. Wayne was an avid reader and movie goer, but most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his son Scott.

Besides his parents, Wayne is survived by a son, Scott Shaffer of Whitesville, a brother, John A. Shaffer, wife Bryanne, and a nephew, Eli Shaffer, all of Fordsville, his grandmother, Minnie B. Chambers of Owensboro, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 21, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 8:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
