James Sheridan Sandidge, 78, formerly of Owensboro, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at his home in Mesa, Ariz., after a short illness. He was born on November 23, 1928, in Louisville, Kentucky, and was preceded in death by his father, Judge Thomas E. Sandidge, and his mother, Cecilia Sandidge. He graduated from the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville Law School. He was a lifelong University of Kentucky basketball fan and an avid golfer. He was a member of Century Christian Church in Owensboro and attended Velda Rose United Methodist Church in Mesa.
Survivors include his wife, Annie, of Mesa; four daughters, Sheridan Marr (Guy) of Tampa, Fla., Lyn Reece (Jay) of Indianapolis, IN, Susan Clement (David) of Lexington, KY and Cynthia Rima (Mike) of Dacula, GA; two sons, Tom Sandidge (Wilma) of Owensboro and Clay Sandidge (Donna) of Mission Viejo, CA; 11 grandchildren; and eight stepgrandchildren. His stepchildren include Lori Rice of Concord, CA, Karen Newsom, Dennis Bosarge, Richard Bosarge of Gulfport, MS, and Glenn Bosarge of Napa, CA.
His body is being donated to medical science. A private family memorial service is planned in the future.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. July 2 at Glenn Funenral Home in Owensboro.
