James "Jim" Roberts, 64, of Owensboro died suddenly November 10, 2015 of an accident while at work. He was born November 28, 1950 in Owensboro to the late Sam and Ruby "Ma" Snell Roberts. Jim was an Army Veteran and served in Viet Nam. He was a hard working farm supervisor who was known for speaking his mind. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to the horse races. He could also cook a mean BBQ chicken.
Jim was preceded in death by his brothers: Lloyd, Charlie, Larry, and Sydney; sisters: Gidget and Ruth Ann; and grandchildren: Kane and Laken. He is survived by his daughters: Sherry Hall (James) of Winchester, Jennifer Howard (Todd) and Mary Jo Rice both of Owensboro, Missy Keiser (Chris) of Owensboro, Dorothy Malana (Cisco) of Evansville; a son, Dexter Roberts also of Evansville; Samantha Landon (Tyson) of Paris, Kentucky, Jamie Roberts Lopez of Lexington; a sister, Peggy Rice (Dwayne) of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Williams family, especially grand-daughters Jaimie and Myanna.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon Monday November 23, 2015 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00 pm and from 10:00 am Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.
