James Bernard Payne

James Bernard Payne, 84, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Hillcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center . Born in Daviess County on December 25, 1926, he was the son of the late Ignatius Roy and Mary Hallie Payne; was a member of St Stephen Cathedral; and was a self-employed landscaper. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ignatius Roy Payne, Jr., Joseph R. Payne, and William G. Payne, and a sister, Mary Lighton.

Surviving is a sister, Margaret Terry of Owensboro and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Kentucky Veterans' Cemetery West near Hopkinsville. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where there will be prayers for Mr. Payne at 3:30 p.m.
