James D. "Bimbo" Pate, 60, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Owensboro to the late Forrest and Sylvia Pate.
Bimbo attended Owensboro High School and was an owner/operator for Besl Trucking. He had also worked as a certified auto mechanic. Bimbo enjoyed trucks, motorcycles and boating, especially on the Ohio River. He was an extraordinarily generous man who will missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Deloris Pate; a daughter, Reneah Monanteras (Jim); sons, Todd and Cecil Pate; grandchildren, MacKenzee A. Monanteras, Ashton Taylor, Cole Monanteras, Hayli Pate, Mia Monanteras, Todd James Pate, Landon Howard, Christina McKinney, and Kayla McDaniel; a great grandson, Jaxon McKinney; sisters, Carol Tucker, Wanda Hedge, Georgia Marksberry and Patty Sargent (Ken); brother, Donald Howard; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 12 PM on Tuesday, March 11 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Mark Redfern will officiate. Entombment will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Monday and after 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Rifle Association.
