James Earl Morris, 86, of One Park Place, Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2005. He was born in Thruston, KY on July 14, 1918 to the late Henry L. & Nellie Christian Morris. He graduated from Lewisport High School in 1936 and was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He had worked for the A & P Grocery Stores for 37 years. During that period, he managed A & P stores in Nashville, Central City, and Memphis before retiring from the store in Hopkinsville.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Edna Mae Carr Morris, a son & his wife, Jerry & Sharon (KoKo) Morris of Owensboro, a daughter, & her husband, Charlotte & Buddy Adams of Louisville, a grandson & his wife, David & Laura Sims of Hopkinsville, two granddaughters, Lacey Morris and Rachel Morris, both of Owensboro, and two great grandchildren, Mason & Victoria Sims, both of Hopkinsville.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, April 21, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Yellow Creek Cemetery at Thruston. Visitation will be from 4:30-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 10:30 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
