James E. Pap McCoy, 81, of 4029 Foxtail Place went west Wednesday, December 27, 2006 from his home. Born in Stephensport, KY, a son of the late Bernard and Mernie Sago McCoy, owned Edgcumb-GN, a supplier of aircraft parts and engines for the general aviation industry. Mr. McCoy was a member of Owensboro Christian Church, a Navy veteran of World War II, having served on LST 560 in the South Pacific, and an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. McCoy was a Mason and member of Compass Lodge #223 F&AM, the Scottish Rite, and the Shriners.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Jerri McCoy; his sons, Terry McCoy of Owensboro and Larry W. McCoy of Louisville; his grandchildren, Tatia Adams, Marty McCoy, Allison McCoy and Stefanie McCoy; his great-grandchildren, Alex Burke, Cambron Adams, and Allysha Adams; his brothers, Orville McCoy of Owensboro and Bernard Jiggs McCoy, Jr, of Cloverport; and his sisters, Lucille Stiff of Tell City, Velma Noble of Elizabethtown, and Teddy Brown of Cloverport..
Services are 11:30 Friday at Glenn Funeral Home where visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. Friday, and where a Masonic service will be held Thursday.
Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Owensboro Christian Church or Kosair Childrens Hospital.
