James Ray Martin

James Ray Martin, 76, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Homer and Jessie Lee Martin.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gail (Gaddis) Martin; one daughter, Laura (Stephen) Marks; two sons, Timothy (Kathryn) Martin and Kevin (Regina) Martin; 2 sisters, Waunita (Bill) Adams and Bonita (Paul) Phillips; 2 brothers, Bill (Odetta) Martin and Bob ( Janet) Martin. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren along with numerous relatives and friends.

Jim retired from the Owensboro post office where he was a State President of the Union for 8 years. His hobbies were woodworking, stamp collecting and traveling the world. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He appreciated the care given to him by Dr. Prajapati and his staff.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 21st in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Pastor Shawn Green will be officiating services. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
