James E. "Spatsy" Luttrell, 73, of Maceo, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, IN. He was born on August 23, 1936 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Edward B. and Nellie Basham Luttrell. He was a self-employed truck driver and had attended Maceo Baptist Church. He was an avid U. K. basketball fan and enjoyed Nascar having raced himself when he was younger. He was a U. S. Navy veteran having served in the Cuban Blockade. He learned to scuba dive which he loved while he was in the service, and also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bessie K. Luttrell, three daughters, Marti Pullin and husband Michael of Lewisport, Toni Sapp and husband Roger of Island, and Amanda Luttrell and boyfriend Chris Cameron of Maceo, eight grandchildren, Johnny, Jeremy, and Tori Smith, Makayla Pullin, Joshua and Sarah Moore, Mallory Bailey, and Scott Cameron, and three sisters, Shirley Garvin of Spring Hills, FL, Wanda Estes of Kingston, TN, and Glenda Rudy of Thruston.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 3, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Kelly Cemetery in Maceo. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1302 Frederica St., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
