James R. Loyd

James R. "Lonesome" Loyd, 83, of Owensboro, died November 21, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born September 9, 1931 in Owensboro to the late James Fred and Mary Edwina Mattingly Loyd. James was retired from Texas Gas and a member of Sts. Joe & Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed collecting pigeons and Indian relics. James also was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Paisley Henry.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Imogene Mason Loyd of Owensboro; children, Cathy (Wes) Henry also of Owensboro, and Sandy (Gary) Spurlock of Santa Claus, IN; grandchildren, Todd, Eric (Tammy) Henry, Wendy (Dallas) McCarthy, Jimmy, Molly and Danny Spurlock; 7 great grandchildren; and siblings, Mary Pullin, Ann Loyd, Faye Case, Eugene and Ernest Loyd.

Services will be at noon Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Glenn Funeral Home & Crematory with Father Albert Bremer presiding. Entombment will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 7pm and after 10 on Tuesday at the funeral home.
