James R. Jimmy Krewson, Sr., 81, of 2938 Aldersgate, Owensboro, died Sunday, October 1, 2006, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born January 25, 1925 to the late Orville and Nellie Truman Krewson in Springfield, OH. He retired from Green River Steel after 33 years of service. He was a member of Bethel Christian Center, he loved his church family very much and was strong in the Lord, serving Him faithfully to the end of his journey. He enjoyed NASCAR and keeping up with the guys from Owensboro. He was a member of American Motorcycle Association (AMA), International Help N Hands and the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA). He was awarded the Honorable Kentucky Colonel award.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Krewson in 1986.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Shirley Krewson; his daughter, Pam Yagjian and her husband, Marc of Austin, TX; his sons, Dick Krewson and his wife, Sandi of Spearville, KS, Greg Krewson and his special friend, Anita of Southaven, MS; step-sons, Mark Payne and his wife, Linda of Owensboro, Perry Payne of Memphis, TN, a step-daughter, Paula Payne of Owensboro; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11:30 AM Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday and after 10:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Christian Center, Box 174, Rockport, IN 47635.
