James L. Jollay

James L. Jollay, 68, of Owensboro passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2012.
James was born in Daviess County, KY on January 10, 1944 the son of the late Wilford Jollay and Helen Coons Jollay.
James was a member of the Pleasant Memorial Baptist Church, he loved to play baseball, having played in the Little League's,
Babe Ruth and he played on the Velvet Bombers American Legion team, he also earned a scholarship to play Division 1 baseball for Murray State University, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Whirlpool Corporation with over thirty years of service, after he retired he enjoyed woodworking and collecting guns and he was a member of the NRA.
James is survived by two sisters Barbara and her husband Claude Sparks of Owensboro, Brenda and her husband Jerry Millay of Masonville, and one brother Jeff and his wife Shannon Jollay of Owensboro, two nieces Lisa Simpson and Stephanie Quisenberry and three nephews Claude Sparks, Jr., Jerry Millay II, and Jacob Jollay.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Monday January 30, 2012 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Bro. Denny Campbell officiating.Burial will follow in the Rosehill cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday and from 10:00 AM until service time on Monday.
