James S. Johnson

November 29, 1942 — April 9, 2008

James S. Johnson III, 65, of 350 Breezewood Rd., New Concord, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at his home. He was born in Cairo, Ill. to the late James S., Jr. and Betty Kleb Johnson. He is a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Murray, Ky. and was a District Operations Manager for the Bunge Corp. when he retired after 35 years of service. Jim attended Westminster College in Fulton, Mo. and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid reader, photography, spending time with all his family, and living on Kentucky Lake. He also was very active in his church life.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Diana O. Johnson, a daughter, Tiffany Johnson Knight and husband William of Owensboro, a son, Aaron O. Johnson and wife Kimberly of Owensboro, five grandchildren, Zachary Aaron Johnson, James Hunter Knight, Erica Gayle Main, Jessica Quinn Knight, and William Chad Knight, and a brother, Leo Kleb Johnson and wife Joyce and their daughter, Harmony.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 14, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Owensboro with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. The Rev. Pat Connell and Deacon Rev. Rose Bogal-Allbritten will officiate. Visitation will be at the church after 12:00 P.M. Monday until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105-1942.
