James "Jim" Mills Hawks

James Mills "Jim" Hawks, Jr., passed away November 1, 2018 at Owensboro Regional Health Hospital. He was born September 18, 1937 in Memphis, TN to the late James Mills Hawks, Sr., and Margaret Hawks. Jim was a graduate of Forrest City High School in Arkansas, then went on to earn his college degree at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. He was a Professional Mechanical Engineer, specializing in power plants and worked at many locations throughout the United States. Jim was also a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Owensboro. He enjoyed hobbies such as woodworking and golf. Jim was also preceded in death by his sister, Anne Nimocks.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon Hawks; sons, Thomas E. Hawks (Lisa) and J. Jeffrey Hawks (LaDonna); grandchildren, Zack and Jacob and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Owensboro, where visitation will begin at noon. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Care by Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
