James W. Bill Jarboe, 77, of Gary, IN, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2005, at his home. He was born March 1, 1928 to the late James and Jessie Speaks Jarboe in Tell City, IN. He retired after 20 years from Cliffs Upholstery, was an Army Veteran of WW II and a member of American Legion Post 126 in Hammond, IN. He enjoyed fishing, was a University of Kentucky and Atlanta Braves sports fan.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Pendleton.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Eva Jarboe; a son, Herb and his wife, Kathy Jarboe of Jasper, IN; a daughter, Vicky Finney of Gary, IN; two grandchildren, Mick Jarboe of Jasper, IN, and Sara Finney of Hobart, IN; one great-grandson, Ethan Mosqueda of Hobart; a brother, Bobby and his wife, Shelby Jarboe of Maceo; a sister, Shirley Tunstall and her husband, Jimmy, of Woodbine, KY; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Unity Hospice, 425 Joliet St., Suite 125, Dyer, IN, 46311.
