Mr. James Edward Jackson, 74, died Friday, October 26, 2001 at Owensboro Mercy Health Systems. The Daviess County native was a retired Electrical Engineer. Three sons, George Franklin Jackson in 1959, Barry Louis Jackson in 1963 and James E Jackson, Jr. in 1976 preceded him in death. A daughter, Jean Marie Jackson Edmonds, also preceded him in 1976.
Mr. Jackson was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Fourth Degree Knight. He was also a member of Immaculate Catholic Church where he was active in the Immaculate Mens Club and the Over 50s Club. Mr. Jackson participated with many dance clubs such as the Owensboro Ballroom Dance Club, the Evansville Coterie Dance club, The Metropolitan Dance Club of Evansville and the Senior Citizens Line Dance Club. He received a BS in Math from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1959 and an Engineering degree from Valparaiso Technical Institute. He formerly worked for General Electric and retired form Big Rivers Electrical Corporation.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife of 46 years Mrs. Dorothy Walz Jackson. He is also survived by three sons, Steven M Jackson of Marietta, Georgia, Ronald W Jackson of Lexington, Kentucky and Christopher S Jackson of Erlanger, Kentucky, daughter Patricia J Fannin of Chattanooga, Tennessee, his mother Prudence Jackson of Owensboro, Kentucky, his brother, Louis Jackson of Owensboro, Kentucky and six grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday, October 29, 2001 at 10 am in Immaculate Catholic Church with burial in Mater Dolorosa. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 28, 2001 beginning at 2 PM and ending at 8 PM. The Daughters of the Isabella service will be held at 6:00 on Sunday and the Parish Prayers will begin at 7:30 on Monday evening.
