James E. Hamilton, 69, of 1620 East 25th Street, Owensboro, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at his home. Born in St. Lawrence, KY, a son of the late Herbert and Mary Long Hamilton, he was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and was a self-employed craftsman. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Francis Hamilton and Harold Hamilton and his sister, Dorothy Hardesty.
Survivors include his daughter, Cheri Brown and her husband Nick of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and Sandi Spall and her husband Shawn, of Owensboro; his brothers, Alan Hamilton and Don Hamilton, both of Owensboro, and Kenneth Hamilton of Pleasant Ridge; his sisters, Jeanette Dillingham of Owensboro, Shirl Snyder of St. Lawrence, Joan Cecil of Thruston, Jane Lanham of Owensboro, and Betty Johnson of Knottsville; and his grandchildren, Jamie Burden, Kenny Brown, Clay Burden, Whitney Brown, and Jerica Spall.
Services are at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, officiated by The Rev. Tony Stevenson. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, with prayers at 7:00 p.m., and from 8:30 until 9:15 a.m. Saturday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Ohio Valley.
