James William Hagan, 59 of Owensboro died on Thursday, November 9, 2017 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Mr. Hagan was born April 14, 1958 in Owensboro to the late James William Hagan Sr. and his mother, Ollie Lee Green Hagan. Jim graduated from Owensboro High School in 1976 and eventually became a Master Electrician. He was employed at Rexel/Southland Electrical Supply for 39 years. Jim was mechanically inclined and enjoyed tinkering in his garage and working on cars as well as riding his motorcycle and watching drag racing. He was a great father and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife were foster parents who fostered over 50 children. Jim was a friendly, laid back man who never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sarah Oost Hagan; daughter, Windy Smith and husband Jason; sons, Jonathan Hagan and wife Lyndsey all of Owensboro, Heath Hagan and wife Heather of Grandview, Indiana, Lawson Hagan; mother, Ollie Hagan; four grandchildren, Evan and Emma Smith, Gavin and Gracie Hagan; sisters, Linda Avery (Bill Saddler), Bonnie Clark (Barry), Velma Reed (Michael), Tina Nabours (Tim), Kim Barnett (Mark); brother, Kenny Hagan (Roberta); numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 6:00 pm Monday, November 13 at Glenn Funeral Home Crematory. Visitation will be from 3 till 6 pm Monday at the funeral home.
