James Hagan

April 25, 1935 — October 10, 2014

James "Skeeter" Hagan, 79, of Owensboro, died October 10, 2014 at the Heartford House. He was born April 25, 1935 in Daviess County to the late John Hilman and Lillie Abel Hagan. James served in the Army and was a retired electrician with IBEW Local 1701 with 42 years of service and a member for 58 years. He was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church for the past 4 years, previously a member of St. Martin for 45 years and a member of Knights of Columbus of Sorgho. James was a KY Colonel who loved cooking, outdoor barbecuing, piddling in the garage and especially loved spending his time with the grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hagan and a sister, Johnnie Mae Howard.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Norma Powers Hagan; children, Lisa (Danny) Bartlett, Michael Scott (Susan) and James Ricky (Carla) Hagan; grandchildren, Magan (Eric) Lott, Kimberly Hagan, Melissa Bartlett, Travis (Haley Wilson), Chelsea, Maddie, and Abby Hagan; great grandchildren, Kayson, Bryleigh and Emma; and sisters, Helen Howard and Josie Hayden.

Services will be 10 AM Monday, October 13, 2014 at Immaculate Catholic Church with Father Tony Jones presiding. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 PM Sunday and after 8:30 Monday at Glenn Funeral Home & Crematory.

Donations of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Heartford House. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.glennfuneralhome.com
