James E. Glenn, 58, of 9577 KY Highway 56, died August 13, 2005 at his home. The Daviess Co. native was born August 3, 1947. He was preceded in death by his father, Jodie Glenn and a brother, Donnie Glenn both in 1994. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, the VFW, and the American Legion. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and while in the service he was awarded the Purple Heart. Mr. Glenn was a cattle farmer and also well known for his tobacco. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of twelve years, Bonnie, two sons, David of West Louisville and Daniel of Nicholsville; two grandchildren, Clayton Daniel and Jenna Kay Glenn; two step-grandchildren, Curtis and Robert Johnson; his mother, Lorene Glenn of West Louisville; four brothers, Herbert of Franklin, Ohio, Gene and Wayne of West Louisville, and Bill of Owensboro; and two sisters, Imelda Madison and Della Simmons of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, August 15, 2005 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. with prayers at 6:00 p.m., and 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Hospice.
