James Richard Foster, Sr., 72, of Owensboro, answered the call and went to be with his Savior and Lord on Monday, March 23, 2009. He was born in Daviess County on October 9, 1936 to the late William A. and Anna Mae Clark Foster. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and Kentucky Governor's Safety and Health Network. Mr. Foster was a Kentucky Colonel and retired as the Safety and Environmental Manager at Hon after 34 years. He was a wonderful family man who especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sally Foster Postiglione and his brothers, William Thomas Foster and Robert Lee Foster.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Beverly Ann Best Foster; daughter, Melanie Rose Foster of Antioch, TN; sons, James Richard Foster, Jr. and his wife Linda of Belleville, IL, and Randall Milton Foster and his wife Brittney of Owensboro; sisters, Cora Mae Tucker and Lena Pearl Probus and her husband Sidney all of Owensboro; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn Basham, Jackson Foster and Laci Foster all of Owensboro and Luke Foster and Jacob Foster both of Belleville, IL; sisters-in-law, Lou Foster, Cora Mae Haire Foster and Thelma Good all of Owensboro; brother-in-law, Tim Best and his wife Carolyn of Glasgow, KY; and a host of other loved ones and friends.
Services will be held on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. and after Noon on Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
