James Joe "Jay" Etherton, 43, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016. He was born August 21, 1973 in Chicago, Illinois. Jay was owner and operator of Jay's Autobody Specialty for 13 years. He loved restoring old cars and had received numerous certificates on auto body repair, restoration, and management. He loved spending time with his children and was very high on life. Jay loved riding anything that had wheels and was very good with his hands and being very creative in building anything. He was a graduate of Owensboro High School and the Owensboro Vocational and Technical College. Jay was preceded in death by two nephews, Kody and Taz Radloff and his father-in-law, Ronnie Druen.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Stacie Etherton, his daughter, Katherine Alexis "Lexi" Etherton of Owensboro, his son, Nikolas Hunter Etherton of Owensboro, his parents James Earl and Virginia Etherton of Ohio Co., two sisters, Annie Drewry and Nancy Etherton, both of Owensboro, and three brothers, Sandy Etherton of Illinois, and Tony and Billy Etherton, both of Owensboro.
Services will be 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 14, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
