James W. Epley, 76, of 731 Parkway Drive, Owensboro, died Monday, January 21, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in McLean County, Kentucky on March 23, 1925.
He retired from Fleischmann Distillers after 35 years as an operator and night watchman and owned E & M Sheetmetal Co. in Owensboro. He was a member of Parrish Avenue Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and had taught Sunday school. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Epley is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lettie Epley; four sons, Ronnie Epley, Danny Epley and Robert Epley all of Owensboro, and Michael Epley of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Mitchell Donahue. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2002 and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
