James Marvin Eaton

June 16, 1926 — June 13, 2011

James Marvin Eaton, 84, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2011 at Wellington Parc. Born in Thornton, IN, he was the son of the late William and Gertrude Chism Eaton; was a 1951 graduate of Western Kentucky University; and was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Eaton founded and operated Eaton Wholesale Company, a wholesale sporting goods company and Jim's Discount Furniture Store. He was a past president of Post G of the Traveler's Protective Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Marie Eaton in 1998 and a son, Gary Eaton in 2006.

Surviving is a son, Jeff (Claudia) Eaton of River Forest, IL, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; his friend and companion, Marilyn Myers of Owensboro; and sister, Lucille Graves of Indiana.

Services were private with burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory handled the arrangements.
