James I. Dantic

James I. Dantic, 81, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at his home. He was born February 25, 1943, in Owensboro, to the late Irvin and Georgia Cox Dantic. James was a family man first, very much enjoying his time spent with them, and his many friends. He enjoyed traveling in his RV, was a past member of the Antique Car Club, loved his dogs, and also enjoyed spending time flying in his airplane. James worked as a project engineer for Commonwealth Aluminum / Aleris, where he retired after 43 years of dedicated service.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Randy Dantic.

James is survived by his wife of 60 years, Myrna Hendry Dantic; a son, James (Julie) Dantic; a daughter, Katy Dantic; grandchildren, Benjamin Dantic and Ivy (TJ) Atwell; and a brother, Tom Dantic.

The funeral service for Mr. Dantic will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday April 23, 2024, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Greg Faulls officiating. Entombment to follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
