James E. Constant, 78, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017 at Wellington Parc surrounded by his family. He was born on Sep. 29, 1939, in Grayson County to the late Victoria (Watson) and Wilbur Constant. His Catholic faith was the greatest gift of his life and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. James was an educator for over 3 decades, with most of those served at Apollo High School. He taught all he came in contact with how to solve problems and plan ahead. He was an avid volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, and had a passion for putting God's love into action.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Alice Goins.
He was loved and cherished by his wife of 53 years, Faye Constant; three sons, Mark, Matthew, and Jonathan; his adopted daughter Sherry Rickard; 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; one sister Gladys Duvall (Arnold); one brother RC Constant (Sharon); and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Noon Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where visitation will begin at 11 am. Visitation will also be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Burial will be at a later date in St. Anthony Cemetery in Peonia, Kentucky.
