James Thomas Cassilly, 56, of 1750 Antler Dr., Owensboro, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2009 at his home. He was born on August 10, 1952 in Owensboro and was a Master electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local #1701. He had been a vocational educator in Ballard Co., Ky., had worked in Electrical Energy Sales and Transmission for Big Rivers Electric Corp., Seminole Electric Corp. in Tampa, FL, and ACES Electric Corp. in Indianapolis, IN. He was a graduate of Daviess Co. High School and had received an Associate degree from Murray State University. He was a past board member of the Boulware Center Mission and enjoyed reading, boating, spending time with his family and friends, and mentoring the younger members of the family. He was of the Episcopal faith, had been a member of the Crooked Creek Bar-b-que Cooking Team, and the Bizarro Bros. Philosophical Society. He was preceded in death by his father, John Paul Cassilly in 1959.
Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Cassilly Green of Jacksonville, FL, his mother, Mary Anne Cassilly of Owensboro, his brother, William Paul Cassilly of Crawford, GA, his sister, Joanne Clary of E. Moriches, Long Island, New York, and two close friends, Rick Wood and Bobby Joe Wilson, both of Owensboro.
A gathering of friends and family to honor Jim's memory and life will be held at 1750 Antler Drive here in Owensboro, on Saturday, March 14 from 4:00 until 9:00 P.M.
