James Norbert Bowlds, 84, of the Bishop Soennecker Home at Knottsville, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. and had worked at S. W. Anderson Co. for a number of years. He was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church and the 3rd Order of Franciscans. He was a Ky. Colonel and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sims Bowlds in October of 1992.
Surviving is a sister, Catherine Hazel Strobel of Owensboro, and several nieces & nephews including Wanda Williams, James E. Strobel, and Dolores A. Kirk, all of Owensboro, Frank F. Strobel of Brentwood, Tn., Thomas E. Strobel of Lowell. Ma., and Pat Bidal.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 20, at St. Williams Catholic Church with burial following in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the church. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
