Rev. James Robert "Bob" Bouser, 54, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Louisville, a son of the late Frederick Charles Bouser, Jr. and Ruth Benz Bouser, Rev. Bouser graduated from Durrett High School, Kentucky Wesleyan College, and the Princeton University School of Theology. Rev. Bouser became a deacon in the United Methodist Church in 1977 and was ordained into the Ministry in 1980. His pastoral assignments included service at Smithland and McMurray Chapel United Methodist Churches, Jones Memorial United Methodist Church in Louisville, Settle Memorial United Methodist Church in Owensboro, Hartford United Methodist Church, Lebanon United Methodist Church, Eddyville and Fairview United Methodist Churches, Bennett Memorial United Methodist Church in Henderson, and the Harned and Horsley's Chapel United Methodist Churches. Among his other interests were photography and hiking
Surviving Rev. Bouser are his wife, Colleen Humphress Bouser; his sons, Blake R. Bouser and Brian J. Bouser, both of Owensboro; his brother Fred Bouser of Louisville; his sister, Barbara Schrader of LaPlate, MD; and several nephews.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Shepherd Center of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.
