Mr. James Henry Best, age 75 of 1711 West Fifth street, Owensboro, died of Cancer, Friday,October 25,2002 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith, and a retired dragline operator for Owensboro River Sand and Gravel Company. He was preceeded in death by two children, Stephen Best in 1990, and Ike Best in February, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elberta Dillingham Best: four sons;Terry Best of Rough River, Mike Best, Harry Best, and Barry Best, allof Owensboro; a foster son, Kenny Rosecrans of Owensboro; three daughters; Jean Black, and Diane Hendricks of Owensboro, nad Becky Goldsberry of Marshall, Illinois; three sisters; Winnie Duffee of Hawesville, Pattie Shock of Owensboro, and Maggie Mattingly of Tampa, Florida; sixteen grandchildren; sisteen great-grandchildren.
funeral services will be held Monday, October 28, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Pellville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
