Jake Lee Yewell

Jake Lee Yewell, 18, of Owensboro, was surrounded by family and friends as he went to be with the Lord from Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born in Owensboro on the 13th of August, 1995, he graduated from Apollo High School and was pursuing a degree in criminal justice and law enforcement at Owensboro Community and Technical College while working as a Point/Fry Trainer at Texas Road House. Jake played baseball as a child and loved fishing, motorcycles. Jake was known for his sense of humor and loved to make people laugh, he truly loved life and never met a stranger. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Jake is survived by his mother, Pennie Gilmore (Kirk Bell); his father, Ray Yewell; his grandparents, Beverly and Louis Kruger and Fronie Damron; his brother Logan Kane Gilmore; his step-brother Ross Bell; his step-sister Katie Bell; and Katelyn Rusher, who was like a sister.

The funeral service for Jake will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Jake Yewell Memorial Fund in care of Pennie Gilmore. Memorial contributions envelopes are available at the funeral home.
