Jacob Hayden Evans

Jacob Hayden Evans, 16, of Owensboro, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 at his home after a brave struggle with depression following the loss of his Papaw Dennis Hayden who was also his best friend. He was born in Daviess Co., KY on June 27, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his father, Brandon Evans and a cousin, Kate Hayden.

Jacob was a sophomore at Owensboro High School and was of the Catholic faith. He loved hunting and fishing with his friends Scott Lindsey and Paul Montgomery, and spending time with his friends and family. Jacob had the uncanny ability to make everything in life something to laugh about and brought smiles to everyone who was blessed to know him. He was a loving and compassionate son, brother, and grandson and loved his family more than anything.

Survivors include his mother, Denise Hayden, his brother, Wade Evans, and sisters, Jenna and Shelby Hodges who loved their bubby Jake more than anything. Other survivors include his Mammaw Mildred Hayden, Uncles Walter (Lisa) Hayden, Stephen Hayden, and Jason (Jennifer) Coates, Aunts Michelle (Mark) Adams, Theresa (Jason) Everly, and Amy (Terry) Goodin, and numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 17, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday and after 9:00 A.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers and time for sharing will be at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
