Jack Todd Wilkerson

December 6, 1919 — September 26, 2003

Jack Wilkerson age 83, of Peachtree City, Georgia, formerly of Owensboro, died Friday, September 26, 2003 in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr Wilkerson was a radio personality for 35 years. He was a radio announcer in Owensboro during the 1960s at WVJS and WSTO. He then spent the rest of his career in the Ann Arbor area. Mr Wilkerson was a radio operator in the U.S. Air Force, during WWII and in the Korean War, president of the Michigan Country Music Association, a Shriner and 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church, and a former member of Settle Memorial United Methodist, as well as a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Wilkerson, and a sister, Julia Alice Moore, both of Owensboro.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Main Wilkerson, of Peachtree City, GA, daughter Jacqueline Wilkerson of Traverse City, Michigan, and daughter and son-in-law, Madeline and Jayme Cruz of Peachtree City GA, three granddaughters, Sloane Kelley of New York City, Erin Monigold of Traverse City, MI, and Melissa Cruz of Peachtree City, GA, and lots of special nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews, many in the Owensboro area.

Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Mary Kendall Home.
