Jack Stanley Stemmermann

June 14, 1943 — January 10, 2009

Jack Stanley Stemmermann, 65, of Owensboro (formerly of St. Louis, MO) passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009 at his home. Born June 14, 1943 in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Clyde and Mary Frances Hanson Stemmermann; was retired from the St Louis County Police force where he served as Police Chief prior to retirement; and owned and operated Nob-Hill Landscaping here in Owensboro. He enjoyed weightlifting, building, and gardening. An Army veteran, he was a member of AMVETS Post 75 and VFW Post 696. Mr. Stemmermann was preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Drennen and a step-son, David Hill, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mary Lee Daugherty Stemmermann; sons, Glenn Patrick Stemmermann and Garrett Stemmermann of St Louis and Kenny Hill of Owensboro; daughters, Chris (and Scott) Novlin of St Louis, and Connie (and Ronnie) Knight and Binky (and David) Daugherty of Owensboro; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Maden of St Louis.

Services are 12 noon on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Field of Honor where military honors will be provided by VFW Post 696. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home where prayers will said at 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 723 Harvard Dr., Owensboro, KY 42301.
