Jack P. Hunter, 81, of Owensboro passed away January 28, 2009, at Owensboro Mercy Health Center in Owensboro. He was born on September 24, 1927 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Buford Hunter and Louise Buchanan Hunter. He was a graduate of Owensboro High School and the University of Kentucky. He served in the United States Army during WWII and retired from GMAC after 37 years. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Hunter, of Louisville, KY; and a sister, Elouise McConnell, of Rhode Island.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marvadean Hunter; a daughter, Marva (Priss) Sammons of Owensboro; a son, James P. Hunter and wife, Diane, of Owensboro; four granddaughters, Shannon Luttrell and husband, Brian, of Owensboro; Brandi Hayden and husband, Matt, of Owensboro; Krista Kral and husband, John, of Atlanta, Georgia; and Brittany Sammons of Miami, Florida; three great granddaughters, Camille Luttrell, Lily Hayden and Evie Hayden, all of Owensboro.
Services will be at 5:00 P.M. Monday, February 2, at Glenn Funeral Home, conducted by the Reverend Allen Shouse. The final resting place will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
